There are new arrivals in Downtown Petoskey, and doesn’t that feel good?
Sam’s Graces Café, at 324 East Mitchell Street, is a popular eatery relocating from Harbor Springs. They’re looking at an opening around December 1st when owners, Victoria and Chad, can utilize a bigger space to satisfy those in love with their “high quality ingredients from a loving kitchen.”
Victoria notes the hours will be Sundays and Mondays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“We want to offer a breakfast and lunch spot for downtown Petoskey,” Victoria adds.
A long-time favorite in Harbor, their move may accentuate some menu variations, but they will continue to offer the famous lemon-blueberry scone, their full-plate breakfasts, and brink-oven pizzas. You will not leave Sam’s hungry.
The liquor license remains intact, so a selection from their bar will include traditional mimosa’s, a Manmosa, a Bloody Mary, and even a Naughty Hot Chocolate.
Another local favorite is making a splash over on Lake Street, Lavender Hill Farm. During the interview with Ryane, she wanted to make sure we knew this was a “town shop” and that the digs were “temporary.”
“We wanted to extend the season, and it’s nice having a brick and mortar shop where guests can continue to enjoy all we have at the farm,” Ryane states.
As you look around the shop, pretty much everything available at Lavender Hill Farm is available at the store including bath and body products, the classic lavender-lemonade fizz, and their shortbread cookies. Ryane indicates they also have holiday gift sets and stocking stuffers.
“We’ll be here from now until sometime in May,” Ryane reminds me.
Before I left, I smiled and made an obvious statement regarding the color scheme of the shop, provoking laughter from Ryane, “Yes. There’s no shortage of purple.”
After a different summer, to say the least, in Downtown Petoskey, the pleasure in accentuating the positive is a delight. Next month there will be more additions to the locale, so stay tuned.
